Vision
At Gagliole, care for the environment stems from responsible choice.

A vision that guides every action, in the vineyard and the cellar, and that over time has developed into a conscious biological approach. We work with the natural rhythm of each site and its microclimate, harnessing the differences between plots and allowing each vineyard to unveil its character. We don’t intervene to standardize, but to guide and enhance. The cellar was designed as part of this balance – an architecture integrated into the landscape, built with respect for nature and the terrain that embraces it. The energy that supports the cellar’s operation also comes from renewable sources, permitting a continuous dialogue between innovation and assessment. Everything is part of a broader vision, where sustainability and superior quality are the natural consequences of a diligent and conscious way of working the land.

Our roots
The history of Gagliole is rooted in a distant time, where the boundaries between history and legend are blurred.
An ancient document held in the State Archives of Siena tells that these lands were donated in 994 AD as a fiefdom by the son of Berengario, king of the Lombards. An origin that tells of family, continuity, transition, and custody. What the Bär family calls their ‘Land of Dreams’ began as a retreat and home, and later, the wines grown here opened the door to a new chapter. Everything came to life in 1993, from a small plot of 3 hectares of vines and a dream – to become wine makers and produce their own wine. A marked beginning, guided by a passion for wines and the intuition that this place had a story to tell.
